APPI ramps up work in Canberra with new Deputy CEO

Dr Ant Bagshaw has been appointed the new Deputy CEO of the Australian Public Policy Institute, further enhancing the Institute’s offering in Canberra.

The Institute’s 2030 Strategy seeks to meet the growing demand for expert policy advice at all levels of government, building cross-jurisdictional exchange between local, state and the federal government. This critical appointment, following the Institute’s Memorandum of Understanding with the Australian Public Service Commission, will galvanise stakeholders in the Australian Capital Territory across policy areas. 

Dr Bagshaw joined APPI with substantial experience across a wide range of policy and strategy roles. His career includes senior positions in consulting, media, educational technology and membership organisations.

This strategic appointment will amplify the Australian Public Policy Institute's work across all levels of government, capitalising on our new partnership with the Commonwealth Government.

The author of Higher Imagination: A future for universities and co-editor of Influencing Higher Education Policy, Dr Bagshaw teaches a course on policy influence as Affiliated Faculty at the University of Pennsylvania.
