Policy Fellowships

Our Policy Fellows analyse significant policy challenges and propose bold, practical solutions for public policy development.

About the program

Policy Fellows pursue independent and rigorous policy-relevant research with a strong potential to generate public value and impact.

We offer two fellowship streams. The public service stream allows qualified public servants to conduct independent, detailed policy research at the Institute. Meanwhile, the academic stream enables researchers from our university partners to create and disseminate their policy-relevant insights.

All Policy Fellows analyse a major policy challenge or opportunity for NSW and create innovative yet practical solutions for public policy and government action, supported by relevant evidence. Their efforts will significantly influence future policy options that benefit the people of NSW.

Applications for the public service stream are reviewed on a rolling basis. Academic stream fellowships are advertised directly by our university partners.
