About the project
New South Wales is rapidly expanding its clean energy infrastructure, with more homes and businesses adopting solar, batteries and electric vehicle systems. This transition brings major benefits, but also new challenges for ensuring safety and consistency across installations.
Professor Vivian Tam and her team from Western Sydney University are redesigning safety inspection systems to help governments deliver safer, more efficient energy upgrades that can scale across the state. The project will review existing inspection systems for solar panels, batteries, and other technologies, identifying gaps and exploring ways to connect them. The team will engage with policymakers to ensure safer, more consistent inspections across New South Wales.
