From data to action: Frailty Index to guide Australian aged care policy

Australia’s ageing population is creating increasing pressure on our health system. This project, led by Professor Ping Yu from the University of Wollongong, explores how existing digital health data can be used to improve the early identification and management of frailty in older Australians. The research team aims to further test and validate the frailty index in multicultural settings, providing evidence that policymakers can use to strengthen primary care. By engaging clinicians, consumers and policymakers from the start, the project aims to ensure that research findings inform both practice and policy.
