About the project
In New South Wales, systemic barriers are driving too many children and young people into contact with the justice system. This project, led by Associate Professor Ruth McCausland from the University of New South Wales, develops evidence-based early intervention policies that address these barriers and help all young people thrive in their communities. The researchers focus on the social determinants of justice – the structural, community and systemic factors, that contribute to young people entering the justice system. By addressing these root causes, the team is developing a holistic early intervention framework to support all young people.
